After five days in which the RAI exhibition centre was fully focused on watersports, the HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show 2013 is over. With new programme segments on the exhibition floor and a new emphasis on vessels up to ten metres, the largest watersport exhibition in the Benelux region sailed a different course this year. And with success! The 2013 edition attracted nearly 40,000 watersport enthusiasts, almost the same number as last year when the exhibition lasted an extra day. HISWA 2014 will take place from 5 to 9 March 2014 in Amsterdam RAI. The 2014 edition of the event will also include ‘HISWA Classic Vessels’, a new addition to the event.
Hundreds of vessels
HISWA 2013 featured hundreds of vessels, including sailboats, launches, tenders, RIBs and speedboats. As always, the show offered an unrivalled selection of launches and speedboats for the Netherlands. The exhibition also included countless premiers and innovations, thousands of parts and accessories, and an extensive activity programme including workshops, clinics, lectures and more. All in all, HISWA 2013 offered everything watersport fans could wish for to prepare for the start of the new watersport season.
Well-received new concept
The exhibition organisers are upbeat about the 2013 edition of the event. “The new concept of the HISWA was well received,” comments Amsterdam RAI exhibition manager Joost Ringeling. “With a focus on boats up to around ten metres and a wide range of parts and accessories, the HISWA is unique in the industry with an extensive offer at the start of the watersport season. It may be a while before everyone is familiar with the new course of the show. However, despite the fact that the watersport sector is in turbulent economic waters, we were able to put on a strong event. The reactions from exhibitors and visitors alike were predominantly positive, which gives us plenty of confidence and energy for HISWA 2014.”
With hundreds of vessels on display, there was no shortage of FUSION's True Marine purpose built entertainment solutions to enjoy. Ranging from the MS-RA50 to the 700 Series and everything in between, FUSION was clearly the boat builders preference for reliable, good quality gear, that can handle the marine environment. FUSION-Link partners were out it force, showcasing the latest innovations to their range of certified FUSION-Link Multi-Function Displays (MFD's) which include MTP support for select Android and Windows smartphones, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, which requires either a MS-BT100 or MS-BT200 module.
A great show for all involved, and with 2014 just around the corner, planning is underway to make the HISWA a celebrated fixture on the marine industry calendar for years to come.
