Taking place over 5 days in February at the Melbourne Showground’s, the Victorian Caravaning, Camping and Touring Supershow is the largest outdoor lifestyle show in Victoria, Australia.
The show featured a huge range of products, innovations to suit the outdoor lifestyle, including caravans, motorhome, tents, camper trailers, 4x4 off road and camping products, accessories and much more. Covering thousands of square meters, one needed more than a day to see all there was on offer.
There were a number of daily demonstrations and seminars on The Walkabout Stage and the Outback Seminar Dome. Jo Clews did camp cooking demonstrations, Grant and Linda from the popular blog My Aussie Travel Guide talked about their various outback adventures, and Darren Raven talked about the do’s and don’ts of purchasing caravans at the show.
The largest caravan brands in Australia were present including, Lotus, JB Caravans, New Age Caravans and Universal - to name just a few.
But it wasn’t just the newest technologies that were on display; the show also featured some vintage caravans too. Made up on the inside for retro 1960s and 1970s living and attached to a pristine vintage car, visitors could take a peek inside the past and see what outdoor living was like back in the day.
Notably, for many exhibitors, there was an increasing focus on sustainability and efficiency. From solar panel technology to highly efficient smart fridges, it’s great to see a more eco-friendly approach to living in the outdoors.
FUSION had a stand in the accessories building where we displayed our premier audio entertainment systems for the outdoor lifestyle market. Our new FUSION Sound-Panel speaker system was also on display for the first time in Australia!
Our latest innovation, the Sound-Panel is a shallow mount speaker system which solves the age-old problem of delivering professional sound quality from the limitations of shallow mounting depths often required in many RV installations. There are four optional mounting spacer accessories are available to suit the variable mounting depths of every RV.
Our friends at Concept Caravans and On the Move Caravans had the black Sound-Panel installed on a select number of their models on display. On the Move had the Sound-Panel installed on the outside of their vehicles, while Concept featured them inside on the base of their beds – illustrating the diversity of the Sound-Panel.
The 650 Series proved to be most popular stereo system of the FUSION range at the show. Yet the 750 Series could be seen on many high-end caravan makes and models - as well as the MS-RA205 compact stereo making an appearance on many caravans too.
StereoActive was also on display along with the water tank – where visitors could witness the StereoActive floating in the water. It proved popular with those outdoor enthusiasts who were interested a portable stereo, as opposed to a built-in permanent audio system. It also suits the outdoor lifestyle of outback travelers due to its rugged, weatherproof nature.
The Victorian Caravan Show was a great place to premiere our latest products and we’re looking forward to showcasing them at the next Australian lifestyle trade show, NSW Caravan, Camping and Holiday show in Sydney. See you there!
