Over October 7-9 PADDLEexpo took place in Nuremberg, Germany, where FUSION was exhibiting for the first time. PADDLEexpo is the largest and leading paddle sports exclusive tradeshow in the world, so it was the perfect place for the European launch of the new FUSION StereoActive.
Open to trade only, visitors spanned from suppliers, buyers, retailers to manufacturers of the best and latest in paddle sports gear and accessories - with a particular focus on kayaking, canoeing, inflatable boats and Standup Paddle Boards. It was great to see that Standup Paddle Boarding is increasingly growing in comparison to previous years. There were exhibitors from all over the world including Red Paddle Co, Starboard, Hobie, NRS and New Zealand’s very own Viking Kayaks.
As the world’s first purpose-built floating paddle sports stereo, the StereoActive proved to be very popular among visitors. Particular attention was paid to the fact that both the StereoActive and ActiveSafe float, and the innovatively designed scalloped buttons for easy press and play with your paddle. Soon enough other exhibitors were making quick use of the StereoActive aboard their own equipment to give their stand a soundtrack of their own.
FUSION is well-known for the instant recognition of our green inflatable FUSION Aliens. The team pumped out over 300 aliens across the show’s 3 days! By the end of the second day there were FUSION Aliens on every 5th stand and every one had heard the StereoActive in action, whether it was on our stand or any of the other four stands that had our products on them playing music.
A special highlight from the show was the prize giving ceremony, where the FUSION StereoActive won the PADDLEexpo ‘Coolest Product of the Show’. This award is selected by a jury to highlight a product in its category that is revolutionary in its innovation, performance, design and utility. This is a huge accolade and testament to the design and engineering of the StereoActive, and a great honor to receive as a first time exhibitor at PADDLEexpo.

We were the first award given on the night and accepted it in true FUSION Style. We brought three StereoActive’s (one of each color) with us playing music as the team walked to the stage to accept the award. It went down so well that another company receiving an award asked if they could borrow a StereoActive to do the same thing with the Star Wars soundtrack. So StereoActive made it on stage for two awards and got a special thank you as the official music sponsor!
FUSION certainly came out as a memorable addition to the PADDLEexpo team. It was a fantastic first time at PADDLEexpo and we’re already excited for next year.
