The 2018 edition of the prestigious METSTRADE Boat Builder Awards, in association with Raymarine, is now open for nominations!
Nominations for these awards are free, and can be entered here where clear explanations of each category can also be found. Nominations can be made by individuals or companies on their own behalf, or by any other industry professional who believes a boat builder, supply chain partner or individual should be recognized.
Featuring 10 categories that cover key facets of the industry, from innovation and collaboration through to future investment and performance by individuals, the Boat Builder Awards recognize all the highest achievers in the marine industry.
An event initiated in 2015 by METSTRADE and IBI (International Boat Industry magazine), and now a prestigious and widely recognized awards programme, the Boat Builder Awards were created by the industry for the industry to recognize both individual and team success within boat building teams globally.
Fusion Entertainment has been on-board with the Boat Builder Awards for a number of years, by sponsoring the ‘Innovative On-Board Design Solution’ category. The boat builders nominated in this category have innovated to create a new feature or design solution that enhances the appeal to end customers and/or improves the function of a production boat or one-off yacht. These solutions must have been released, improved, implemented or launched onto the market between 1 January 2017 until 31 May 2018.
“The Boat Builder Awards is a very important night for the industry,” says Fusion’s Marketing Manager, Marcus Hamilton. “It is an evening filled with not only celebration of the past year’s achievements, but a glimpse into the future of our industry. We are proud sponsors of the evening as innovation, industry knowledge and acknowledgement are all important parts of what makes the marine industry one of the best in the world.”
Sunseeker International Ltd, pictured below with Fusion’s Managing Director Chris Baird, took out both the Fusion-sponsored Innovative On-Board Design Solution category and the Best Apprenticeship and Trainee Scheme categories last year.
Building on previous years, the 2018 awards introduce two brand new categories, increasing the number of awards on offer from eight to ten.
To recognize an individual up to the age of thirty-five who has had a major impact on the boat building business they work for, the Rising Star Award has been added. This award provides the perfect way to praise emerging talent, and highlights the critical importance of careers and skill development in the global marine industry.
The ‘Collaborative Solution Between a Superyacht Builder and its Supply Chain Partner’ category focuses on the critical interface between those making yachts and the companies and individuals that supply them. This builds on an existing category focused on collaboration within series production and reflects how the supply chain increasingly needs to offer volume and one-off solutions.
The nominations are open until 21 September 2018, with the awards evening on Tuesday 13 November 2018 at the National Maritime Museum, Amsterdam. A highly anticipated event, it is a must-attend for all who are serious in the boating industry. Tickets will be on sale from July – make sure you don’t miss out!
