Fusion’s Apollo RA770 has been nominated among an impressive field for the globally recognized 2018 DAME Design Award!

The DAME Design Award has been celebrating everything that is important about marine equipment design, from aesthetics to functionality, integration to packaging and price efficiency to lifecycle management – for 28 years! Experts spanning all areas of design judge the awards, with entries sent from all around the world. This year’s winners will be announced on the opening day of METSTRADE 2018, which takes place from the 13th to 15th November in Amsterdam.

With an incredibly broad diversity of submissions, from simple components to large superyachts, this year’s entry field showed a much wider variety in the size, price and complexity of submissions in comparison to previous years. The DAME Jury chair, Birgit Schnasse, was particularly impressed with the strong field, which showed further signs of progress at both individual company and industry level. “The primary motive of the DAME Award is to encourage good design practice in every aspect and I was personally pleased to see so many examples where form and function were well balanced.”

Featuring many world-firsts for the marine industry, the Apollo RA770 is the world’s first Wi-Fi marine stereo, the first marine stereo with a touchscreen, and the first to feature PartyBus functionality and Apple AirPlay, with advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to top it off. Able to be installed both flat and flush, the stylish glass display is an elegant addition to any helm, and blends perfectly with modern glass helms for a sleek, seamless finish.

Among an impressively strong field of entries, here at Fusion we’re proud to have achieved this prestigious nomination.
