What a pleasure it was to be back in Florida for the Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show – with something for everyone from the smallest dinghy runner to the biggest superyachts and everything in between.
Thousands of industry professionals and consumers alike joined us at the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin between the 13th and 17th of February – some 82,000 attendees made their way around 1,300 exhibitors from across the industry. The show is another high point of our year, with impressive exhibitions of marine equipment, materials, systems, yachts and launches to cater to all tastes.
Fusion were well-placed in the ‘Marine Electronics’ section showcasing some of our leading technologies including a taster of our new Signature Series 3 speakers and subwoofers. Due out later in 2020, the Signature Series 3 boasts industry-first CRGBW LED lighting (sports-style only) that incorporates both Cool White and Warm White as part of the RGB LED light spectrum, for a more natural lighting experience. From premium pastels to vibrant hues you can now match your music for an unparalleled, more ambient on-water entertainment experience.
We set up the Fusion Entertainment booth with the Signature Series 3 on display. Visitors had a chance to change the colors from the Garmin MFD via the Lumishore interface, which allowed us to demonstrate the sound-to-light experience available. The speakers – including the powerful 10” and all-new 12” Signature subs – were set up on the Apollo Series system for the best possible entertainment experience. The Apollo Series was updated with the latest software (available to download in April) that makes the navigation through your entire vessel’s audio network an easy and seamless experience. With the new PartyBus-Network, you’ll also be able to enjoy key functionalities like stereo grouping, volume control, power options and more. We’re excited about the Signature Series 3 and the new Apollo Series software – but we’re still a little way away from launching fully so watch this space!
Our event on the water was another huge success. A big thanks are due to Streamline Boats’ founder and expert boatbuilder Peter Garcia who generously hosted us on his custom Streamline 45’. Not only is it a beautiful launch, Peter’s Streamline 45’ has an impressive system of Fusion technology on board, including:
- The Apollo RA770 Marine Entertainment System
- 6 Pairs of 8.8-inch Signature Series 3 Sports White Speakers with CRGBW
- 5 Pairs of 7.7-inch Signature Series 3 Sports White Speakers with CRGBW
- 12 x 10-inch Signature Series 3 Sports White Subwoofers with CRGBW
- And 9 x Signature Series Amplifiers
In short, Peter’s Streamline can make some noise! It was an awesome experience on the water, with plenty of great quality music and a dedicated bartender pouring multicolored paradise cocktails to match the speakers’ transitions across the spectrum for a few of our select VIPs.
To add to the mix, Fusion were also showcased in the impressive Sea Ray SLX-R 400e recently unveiled by Brunswick. Originally unveiled at CES 2020, the Sea Ray SLX-R 400e features cutting-edge technology and high-performance propulsion, including the Fathom e-Power system. To top it off, the Sea Ray boasts the impressive Fusion Apollo RA770 with touchscreen display and our Signature Series speakers and subwoofers. The innovative vessel’s design showcases upscale elements including special-edition paint and best-in-class layout for you and 21 of your closest friends.
As you can imagine, we kept busy throughout the event, sharing our knowledge and expertise across the Fusion and Garmin brands – particularly talking about the importance of connectivity and full integration, which we’ll continue to see into the future as part of a seamless experience on the water.
Miami is another great opportunity for us to make some noise and showcase our innovations to the American market. We can’t wait to reveal more – especially about our Signature Series – and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event from 11-15 February 2021.
