The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is an event like no other. It’s the biggest boating show in the world with boats and yachts of all sizes and shapes on display, as well as premium marine products making their debut. The event brings together some of the best in the industry to showcase the most exciting marine innovations.
FLIBS, as the regulars like to call it, is held every year in Florida, the ‘Sunshine State’ – so it’s definitely the place to be for anyone in the marine world. Fusion attended another great show this year and celebrated FLIBS’s 60th anniversary where over 110,000 visitors made their way through an event so vast that you can’t even walk the whole way around it!
Fusion were in the marine electronics tent with Garmin, alongside 1,200 other exhibitors. Being exposed to a lot of visitors, it was interesting to see what most of our customers were interested in. Turns out, people like things loud and visible! Our speakers with LED and RGB lights were definitely a big hit, as was our market-leading technological innovation, which is embodied in the Apollo Series.
We were showcasing our crowd-favorite Apollo and Signature Series marine entertainment systems this year, as well as launching our new stereo, the MS-RA210. It’s the first non-Apollo product that has the new uniform look and feel, which people really liked. The MS-RA210 is perfect for towable boats that don’t have much dash space. Its compact form means it’s easy to upgrade to, without making any new adjustments or cutting new holes. We had a lot of great feedback on the launch, particularly in regards to the competitive price of the stereo considering its features – which include built-in DSP, a color screen, the Fusion-Link™ wired and wireless connection, as well as the remote control and Fusion-Link Lite option via a Garmin watch, that makes it so fun and easy to use.
Since last year’s show, Fusion have been at the coal face, designing new equipment and finding new ways of improving our products to create an unparalleled experience for marine audio. At FLIBS, we released our newest Apollo Series software update, which now includes Apple AirPlay® 2. This makes the Apollo Series the only marine stereos with the feature – meaning better quality and seamless, better synchronized sound for an immersive experience. The new update allows users to stream their audio to multiple Apollo stereos on the same network, so you can really get the party started out on the water.
Fusion always enjoy showcasing at FLIBS. Not only is the show a great chance to launch our newest products and updates, but it also gives us the opportunity to see what great things are happening in the nautical world. While we’re always doing what we do best – designing and engineering the greatest marine audio experiences – it’s awesome to see what others are up to and how much the industry is growing.
We’re excited to return to the Sunshine State next year with some exciting new developments and to see what else FLIBS has to offer. In the meantime, the team is off to the METSTRADE show in Amsterdam before heading back home to New Zealand for the summer. Here’s hoping for some good times out on the water!
