The largest boat show in the world, The Fort Lauderdale International Boat show (FLIBS), just took place over November 3-7 in the yachting capital of the world, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Over 100,000 visitors enjoyed viewing billions of dollar’s worth of luxury yachts and vessels, marine equipment, the latest electronics and everything in between.
The organizers for the show have outdone themselves again; there was some great live music on arrival, and the atmosphere was upbeat and bustling from start to finish - keeping all exhibitors and boat owners very busy over the four days. In fact there were over 1000 exhibitors present at FLIBS, representing 30 countries.
A highlight from the show was Feadship’s Savanah, the luxury superyacht, which made its world debut at the show. At 83.5 meters (274 ft), the ‘floating superstructure’ is multi award-winning and features the latest and most innovative technology there is to offer on luxury yachts. Other superyacht world-debuts included Heesen Yacht’s Project Cayman and Oceanco’s Spectrum.
The StereoActive tank at the FUSION stand was a showstopper. As attendees walked past and enquired about the new, award wining portable marine stereo, the FUSION team would drop the StereoActive into the tank of water to demonstrate that it is water resistant AND it can float!
The feedback was phenomenal and the general consensus was this: what’s the point in having a waterproof stereo, if it sinks? Being IPx7 rated and being able to float in the water was a huge highlight of the StereoActive for many visitors.
We also launched the new MS-RA55 entertainment system, FUSION’s newest compact stereo. The MS-RA55 embodies the well-loved FUSION high quality, at a competitive price and with well-known features from FUSION including A2DP Bluetooth Wireless technology, Multi-Zone Technology and an IPx5 water resistance rating.
Attendees who were treated to live demonstrations of our premier Signature Series range of speakers and subwoofers walked away converted to the power of music.
The FUSION booth was busy right through from Thursday through to Sunday morning. A massive 500 FUSION aliens had gone by day 4! They proved to be hugely popular with children and folks who were enjoying some beers at the show.
As the largest event on the global boat show calendar, FLIBS didn’t disappoint exhibitors nor visitors. Even the rain on Friday didn’t stop thousands of visitors packing out the tent in order to see the latest and greatest in the marine industry.
FUSION thoroughly enjoyed our time at FLIBS and we get to do it all again next week METS, one of the largest boat shows in Europe.
