Wind and Water in Warsaw

Back to Pulse

The ever popular Wind and Water Warsaw Boat Show came to a close on the 15th of February after the three day boating extravaganza closed its doors for another year. Arguably a slightly chillier location than Miami, certainly, but Warsaw in the winter is a different kind of beauty and with the popularity of the event recognized throughout Europe FUSION was sure to be in attendance.

In total, 430 exhibitors descended on Warsaw to show off the latest innovations in all areas of boating. The Wind and Water Boat Show has been an annual event for water sports and recreation enthusiasts for 27 years now, and this year around 40,000 people attended the show.

There’s plenty to see - from beautiful yachts, luxury motorboats, water scooters, navigation instruments, onboard electronics, diving equipment, and FUSION technology. Anglers and divers also had the opportunity to book an exciting underwater adventure from one of the many Polish companies in attendance. Despite the bracing winter weather, all of the water sports and equipment on offer had us dreaming of the fun summer months to come.

FUSION’s latest product release the 750 Series, Signature speaker and subwoofer range were the toast of the town and pre orders were building in anticipation of their imminent release. Two new stereos the MS-UD750 and MS-AV750 feature groundbreaking FUSION-Link functionality available via NMEA 2000, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The MS-UD750 includes a built-in UNI-Dock which allows for docking and charging of the latest smartphones, including the Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S5. The MS-AV750 features HDMI connectivity for DVD playback and also includes an Audio Return Channel (ARC) for amplification of the audio returning from a connected television. Other innovations include multi-zone technology available in 4 zones, Pandora radio support, Bluetooth audio streaming, Class-D amplifier 280 Watt output and optically bonded LCD displays.

The Signature Series has been described as the finest speakers available for marine use, thanks to the dedication of the FUSION sound engineers and the high quality materials used to construct these works of art. A CURV woven fibre composite cone, coupled with a silk dome tweeter and fully sealed componentry ensure these speakers can withstand the harshest marine conditions.

The Signature and 750 Series are the latest edition to the impressive True-Marine family of products, covered by an industry leading 3 year warranty.

Famous yachters and water sports celebrities were also drawn to the boat show, and this year’s special guest was Aleksander Doba. You may have read about Aleksander Doba in the news, or seen him in the National Geographic. Aleksander Doba is famous for having been the first person in the world to cross the Atlantic Ocean twice in a canoe. In 2014, the National Geographic nominated him as one of their Travellers of the Year for this amazing feat.

Visitors were also invited to meet Jean-Marie Finot, a world famous constructor, designer and architect of some of the most brilliantly designed yachts in the world. Some of his best-known ocean yachts have won important international races – so if you secretly fantasise about winning the next America’s Cup, you know who to go to!

The little ones weren’t bored either and had the opportunity to learn more about water and yachting at the Marine Education Programme. It taught them about the fundamentals of yachting, how to tie knots like a proper sailor, how to administer basic first aid, and how to make origami boats. (Although the last activity might not help them out at sea, it was still plenty of fun!)

All in all, it was a fantastic show and well worth the trip to Poland. If you’re going to be in Eastern Europe next winter, then you should definitely have a look too.
